The public is without steady, consistent coverage by competent, unbiased media and journalists . Additionally, the rules provided by the Brown Act are inadequate from keeping government entities open and transparent. Consequently, we have government entities that operate without sufficient oversight.
This is the case in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. Specifically;
The PYLUSD School Board continues to make decisions against the will of the people.
PYLUSD like many government entities are emboldened to operate without transparency, integrity, or public accountability due to the lack of effective deterrents provided by the Brown Act.
Presently, there is little stopping School Boards from engaging in “backroom deals” and “pre-determined decisions”.
Elected officials are left to “self-govern”.
In PYLUSD the public’s input has become a “dog and pony” show. The public input is “tolerated” by the elected officials only as a means to maintain the appearance of acting “legitimately”.
A group of parents known as "Friends of PYLUSD" have filed a lawsuit to address this issue but we need help to fight such a large entity. We believe that our lawsuit fits within your mission statement to fight for limited government and fighting government corruption.

School Board comprises 4-3 African American to Caucasian, and vote without fail down racila lines, regardless of the issue. Even selected Superindentant and other employees along racial lines. Newly elected Board members have traveled and been paid to do so 300% more than the previous year once they learned. Boar Members go to numerous conferences an upgrade there rooms to luxury suites at the expense to the taxpayer. Recently attended Inauguration, but unknown at this time at who's expense. We want to look at a recall an know what the Statue requires, but need to find others who have successfully recalled, and on what issues.

There is a School-Politico-Industrial Complex---and unholy alliance between the schools, Juvenile Justice and law enforcement, and 47 non-profit agencies that are feeding at the Public Funding Trough.

We have a videographer that is capturing the humorless arrogance, illusory prestige, brute force, and primeval studpidity of the board and administrators.

All of the same issues go on here also. Just a different scale. Lavish Administrators retreats across the country, big raises for the bosses while para-educators are laid off.
